catcher in a trapeze act loses his grip

For safety reason a net’s required
And THE GREAT BANDINI, soon retired,
All pumped up and now inspired,
Must have his last best show.

And falling into open arms;
He wonders if he’ll miss.
Attention spans are fleeting.
Distractions can do harm.

And slipping, missing
Outstretched arms,
He falls to earth
with loud alarm.

To please this crowd
And make them cry…
No net tonight…
BANDINI……. Goodbye!
